Dr. Hadi M. Khazaei is the founder and Chief Medical Scientist of Athreya MedTech, driving the vision of AI-assisted ophthalmic diagnostics from conception to clinical deployment. With training at Harvard Medical School, NIH, OHSU (MCR, 2021), and a Visiting Professorship at Portland State University, Dr. Hadi brings a rare combination of clinical depth, research methodology expertise, and systems thinking to the MERIT AI project. His AIID framework — Application, Implementation, Integration, Dissemination — defines Athreya's translational research philosophy. He leads the Digital Ophthalmology Dialogues training series and oversees all research partnerships within the consortium, including NIH SBIR grant development. His work spans orbital ultrasonography, thyroid eye disease, tear proteomics, ocular oncology, and AI-driven diagnostic pipelines for 250+ blinding conditions.
